WAZAN and Bank Islam Strengthen Cooperation to Explore New Understanding

SERDANG, October 23 - The Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Endowment (WAZAN), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) exploring new understandings to strengthen existing collaboration.

Bank Islam, which is one of the largest regular contributors for the aid of corporate zakat distribution at UPM every year, now expanding its joint venture by pioneering the opportunity to offer various banking facilities for the convenience of those who give donation (waqf) in UPM.

YBhg. Prof. Datin Paduka Dr Aini Ideris, UPM Vice-Chancellor said that it is time for Dana Wakaf Ilmu UPM to diversify its services to those who make the donation (waqf) through cooperation with banking institutions, especially with Bank Islam which is already well known for various Islamic banking products and services.

According to WAZAN's Director, Dr. Hj. Razali Othman, this discussion was the third meeting between UPM and Bank Islam to realize a number of new collaborative innovations not only limited to facilities for UPM's donaters, but also covering the facilitation of financing of waqf property development projects which being planned for enhancing the asset value of Dana Wakaf Ilmu UPM.  WAZAN Online
