SERDANG, UPM, October 5 – WAZAN made a partnership with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Luxtag Sdn. to develop a Gerobok Wakaf Maya (GWM).

Both sides which are MDEC and Luxtag Sdn. Bhd. has reached an agreement to help WAZAN in developing the Gerobok Maya Wakaf in a discussion held at Café, Golf UPM.

MDEC act as 'enabler' of digital economy will provide a financial management and technical expertise. While Luxtag Sdn. Bhd. will provide information technology management expertise. If needed, bitcoin application will be used to ensure GMW can meet the WAZAN request.

GMW also aimed at helping and providing the basic needs of students who need help through the online platform. Students who need help should only use GMW applications that can be accessed through a computer or smart phone.

Aplikasi GWM ini juga secara tidak langsung akan menyemai budaya memberi dan menyumbang dalam kalangan warga UPM. Menurut Dr. Haji Razali Othman, “Gerobok Maya ini akan dibiayai menerusi dana wakaf.

The GWM application will also indirectly inculcate the culture of giving and contributing to the UPM community. According to Dr. Haji Razali Othman, "This Virtual Gerobok will be funded through wakaf funds.

The items placed in the gerobok are made through the public contributions. In this way, people are encouraged to donate anything like bread, sugar, biscuits and so on to help students who need them.

In the same discussion, Luxtag Sdn. Bhd has also been generous enough to provide the application of platform locker laundry to assist UPM students who need help. According to Dr. Haji Razali, "I told them, WAZAN had no money to build a platform that would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars!
